When my cousin Inge told us about a year ago that they were coming to Vienna this year, we were already very excited. When they told us they were coming in May on the exact weekend when we were going home for Martin's Dad's birthday party, we were devastated. When they then said that they were coming in September after all, the world was set right again and we could start getting excited again.
So after a long and exhaustive email exchange with both Inge and her husband Roy, they actually did come to Vienna in early September. If you ask them, they'll probably tell you that all they ate was cake and Schnitzel... which is actually pretty close to the truth, if I'm not totally mistaken. We went on a little city tour together, visited the university and met up with David, Sarah and Martin at Naschmarkt for a couple of drinks and light dinner. While they went on a tour of the Sissi Appartments and the Imperial Palace, we got ready for their visit (For which I made apfelstrudel which turned out pretty good, despite a splash too much of rum. But what am I saying? Too much rum? Impossible!).
While they had yet another Schnitzel dinner, Martin and I had a Sushi snack and some wine before we we ended up in a club with Country Music, beer and Spritzers and an almost dislocated hip for me, because I thought I'd needed to dance like a crazy woman on speed.
Ooohh... Good times!
I think that they liked it here, and Inge promised that she'll be back (maybe together with Jacqueline or her mom?) so we could have a weekend just for us girls.
